No Excuses: HRC launches campaign to lobby members of Congress on LGBT equality back home -- where they have to listen

Marty Rouse is right, "We have to push harder and smarter if we want to see change in Congress." Along those lines, HRC launched a No Excuses campaign today. It's about meeting with members when they're back home -- and HRC is making it easy:

This is a very good idea. I'm a strong believer in meeting with members of Congress back home. Here in DC, members are treated like royalty. It's sickening. They have huge staffs who venerate them. Lobbyists trip over themselves to suck up. And, you have to go through hoops to even see them here in DC. They're all so important and so busy.

But, back home, they're all just retail politicians. And, they need your votes. In DC, they hold all the cards. Back home, you have the power.

Members of Congrss have got no excuses for denying full equality. And, we've got no excuse if we don't ask them face to face. If you haven't met with your member back home, sign up to do it.

The agenda is: Repeal DOMA; Pass ENDA; Repeal DADT; Provide full benefits to federal employees; and recognize permanent same-sex couples in immigration reform. In fact, that is the agenda.
