This is a good signal from the Governor of New York. Cuomo wants a vote on marriage this year -- in this session of the NY Legislature -- and that means by the end of June. The Advocate's Julie Bolcer has the details:
New York governor Andrew Cuomo gave his strongest indication yet on timing for the marriage equality bill, saying Wednesday that he wanted the legislature to bring the issue up this session, which ends in June.The "Politics on the Hudson" blog at the Journal News has Cuomo's exact quotes, including an acknowledgment that he's working with the Republican leaders in the Senate:
Cuomo spoke with reporters following a budget presentation at Hofstra University, reports The Journal News.
“I want to see it become the law of the state of New York and we’re going to take it up this session,” he said.

Asked what he was doing to work on the bill getting passed the Republican-led Senate, he responded, “We’re working very hard to pass it.”
