Signorile on GOProud, a group that doesn't appear to support much of anything pro-gay

Mike Signorile, writing in the Advocate:

GOProud is opposed to the proposed Employment Non-Discrimination Act and the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which is now law. And fearing being cut out of the annual Conservative Political Action Conference — which for 2012 has banned groups that support any pro-gay legislation — Barron told the blog RedState last February, “Considering we don’t support gay marriage and DADT isn’t part of our 2011 legislative agenda [I’m] not sure how this affects us at all.”
The only pro-gay positions the "gay" group actually has are favoring domestic partners and opposing a federal constitutional amendment on gay marriage. That's it. No ENDA. No end of DADT. No marriage. Nothing. (Correction: I had earlier written that they don't support the repeal of DOMA - they do, but not because they support marriage, rather because they believe in states' rights and all that typical GOP verbiage used when they want to justify something nasty.)

It's not terribly clear what the group's purpose is, other than providing a haven to assuage the collective guilty conscience of gay Republicans who aren't very proud of being gay.
