If the Muppets don’t have a sexual orientation, why the references to opposite-sex marriages?

Please don't tell us the Muppets don't have a sexual orientation. From John's post:

But Sesame Workshop, which produces “Sesame Street,” put an end to any wedding planning on Thursday with this brief statement posted on its Facebook page:

Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves.
Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets™ do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.
How do they explain the weddings, or references to weddings, of the other obviously heterosexual Muppets?  I know it sounds like I'm joking, but I'm not.  The Muppets have a clear heterosexual subtext, so let's not pretend they're sexual orientation is neutral, because they're not.

Okay, if Kermit and Miss Piggy don't have a sexual orientation then lets have Kermit singing about marrying one of the other male muppets, like say, Fozzie Bear.
