Puerto Rican Republican resigns after his Grindr profile is found

I'm not entirely sure he should have resigned.  Yes, they found his Grindr profile.  And yes it included some nude pics (from behind at least).  And yes, that's pretty saucy stuff for a legislator.  But it's still pretty tame stuff.  Would a hetero legislator be forced to resign if his online profile was found to contain some revealing pics?  Mind you, the House member who resigned a while back when his ad was found on Craig's List was cheating on his wife, a sin far greater than simply looking for some fun.

Don't get me wrong, apparently the guy was an anti-gay hypocrite, so good riddance.  I just wonder whether there isn't a bit of homophobia involved in the desire for everyone to see him step down.
