Boehner threatens to withhold funds from DOJ to force DOMA enforcement

The Hill:

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) threatened Friday to withhold funding from the Justice Department unless it agrees to defend a ban on the federal government recognizing same-sex marriages.

The article goes on to imply that the Obama administration is doing something untoward by not defending DOMA in court. The contrary is true, and already proven - the administration does not have to defend every law in court. The Hill should have noted that fact, rather than implying otherwise.
