Tony Blair refuses to defend gays being criminalized in Africa

What a pig.

Watch this video. Watch Tony Blair just sit there smugly while the President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, who incredibly won the Nobel Peace Prize last year for her work on behalf of women's rights (clearly not all women), defends the criminalization of homosexuality. Then Blair outright refuses to even answer the question - he says that now that he's out of office, he can pick which questions he wants to answer.

I guess sticking up for human rights is awfully uncomfortable when it might threaten your business. I understand the Afrikaners felt that way too.

And what a piece of work Sirleaf is. I'm sorry, but you don't get a Nobel Peace Prize if you believe in criminalizing an entire minority. Did Nobody in Sweden even vet this woman?  If it's too uncomfortable, inconvenient, or even politically dangerous for her to defend the human rights of all people, then give the prize to someone who can and does.
