Judge rules against marriage in Hawaii

And AP decides that it's easier to just call religious right anti-gay activists "Christians."
A federal judge ruled Wednesday against two Hawaii women who want to get married instead of enter into a civil union, handing a victory to opponents of gay marriage in a state that's been at the forefront of the issue.

U.S. District Court Judge Alan C. Kay's ruling sides with Hawaii Health Director Loretta Fuddy and Hawaii Family Forum, a Christian group that was allowed to intervene in the case.
I seem to recall the KKK is a "Christian" group too, so does AP plan on calling them simply a "Christian group" in the future? Is Al Qaeda a "Muslim group"?

I'm not suggesting that the religious right is the same as Al Qaeda (though they are, like the Klan, officially designated hate groups). I am saying that when a good writer labels a far-right activist organization "a Christian group," it misinforms its readership and slurs all Christians. AP was being sloppy. And they're AP - they don't get to be sloppy.
