Christopher Crowe, President of LGBT Congressional Staff Assoc., dies at 29

A gay Hill staffer and president of the LGBT Congressional Staff Association has died at age 29 as the result of complications from a staph infection that damaged his heart, according to informed sources.

Christopher Crowe, who worked for Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas), passed away Wednesday at a Washington-area hospital.

Kat Skiles, spokesperson for the LGBT Congressional Staff Association, said calling the passing of Crowe a tragedy “would be an incredible understatement.”

“It’s devastating to fathom an individual as kind, strong and spirited as Chris leaving us due to troubles with of all things — his heart,” she said. “We send our deepest condolences to his loved ones and family.”
