Problems with Chicago’s 750k strong Pride Parade - it’s "too" popular

750,000 people showed up last time, as estimated by the Chicago Police? Jesus.

What if you threw a parade and everyone showed up? A victim of our own success. The 17th Street High Heel Race in DC, which takes place every Halloween, is another victim of its own success. It used to be a fun little gathering of hundreds, maybe a thousand, gays. Now it's a huge event with far too many people to be able to enjoy. It's still fun, but not nearly as much as it used to be.

Anyway, the popularity of the Pride Parade in Chicago is causing real problems for organizers and the police. What do you do when you become just a little too popular?
