As we reported yesterday, Cleve Jones, an icon in the fight for LGBT equality, has been named a White House Champion of Change and is going to meet with the President on Thursday. This meeting between Obama and Cleve is coming at an opportune time. Top staffers at the White House, led by Valerie Jarrett and Cecilia Muñoz, have told us that the President won't sign the non-discrimination executive order. We've also heard that from Jay Carney and other press spokespeople, too. But, Cleve will be talking directly to the President -- and we have not heard directly from Obama on this issue yet. Cleve has been at the forefront of our fight for so very long and is truly an inspiration. His work in the LGBT and labor movements have allowed him to champion workers' rights for decades.
