Cross-dressing male student permitted to wear dress at graduation

It's an interesting question as to whether it matters that he's a gay male cross-dresser rather than someone who feels that he was born into the wrong gender (I'm unclear on the terminology). Would he have a stronger argument if he were the latter rather than the former. Some would argue that both involve expressing your true self. Fair enough. But then does that negate all school dress codes? It's an interesting article, and interesting compromise by the school.
